The Saudi Contractors Authority is reportedly preparing to launch a project aimed at organising the construction sector's companies and activities.

According to Al Eqtisadiah, the authority's chairman, Eng Osama Al Afaleq, said the project will also entail determining the requirements of each company and recognising them as undertakers of specialised or general activities.

The project would enable greater awareness about companies operating in the construction sector, he continued.

Al Afaleq added that partnerships between the government and private sector would lead to varied projects in the future, further promoting the need for ample information and statistics about the latter.

Saudi Contractors Authority has the support of several ministries, as well as construction sector representatives such as contracting bodies and civil engineering societies, on the project, Al Afaleq said, according to the report.
