Bahrain's works ministry to rehabilitate Hmood Al-Sabah Avenue
Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has completed 85% of detailed designs for the rehabilitation of Shaikh Hmood Al-Sabah Avenue
Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has announced that it has completed 85% of detailed designs for the rehabilitation of Shaikh Hmood Al-Sabah Avenue.
The ministry also revealed that it has drafted a preliminary plan to construct a double avenue with two lanes in each direction to link Al-Moaskar Askar Avenue to the Al-Hunainiya Avenue.
According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the ministry is awaiting approval from the National Oil and Gas Authority and other involved authorities, before it will begin preparing the detailed designs for the double avenue.
Updates on the projects were announced by Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister, Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, during a meeting he held with the representative of the Southern Governorate’s fifth constituency at the Council of Representatives, MP Khalifa Al-Ghanim.
During the meeting, Huda Fakhro, the ministry’s assistant undersecretary for roads, also presented on recently implemented roads and sanitation projects, as well as those that are scheduled for development, BNA reported.
Fakhro noted that several roads in bloc 901 have either been paved or are subjected to maintenance work. Meanwhile, dust roads 107, 167, and 103 will be paved in the future, and Hmood Al-Sabah Avenue will be refurbished once all procedures and budget requirements are finalised, she added.
