UAE FM sector to hit $12.5bn in 2017
Industry value can go well past $17bn in the near future, say experts
The facilities management (FM) market size in the UAE will hit $12.49bn in 2017, according to FM Expo’s research partner TechSci Research.
FM Expo’s Alexis Wheatley said: “Fuelled by the $629bn worth of construction contracts predicted to be completed in the UAE by 2021, including the ongoing preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai.
“The FM industry faces a significant opportunity to develop as these projects pave the way for growth that looks likely to push the industry’s value beyond $17bn,” he said.
He also said that potential for growth gives the industry “a fantastic chance to consolidate the gains it has made in the UAE and the region over the last decade”.
The 2017 edition of the show will be the 11th in its history, and will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from September 25-27.
Exhibitors are expected to address sustainability and energy saving projects, which continue to take centre stage in the local market.
Wheatley added: “A number of dedicated features areas — clean, waste, elevators, and new for this year an area for legionella — will form the focal point of the event, collecting specialist experts together allowing visitors to make the most of their time on site.”
Co-located within the FM will be the two day Facilities Management Congress Middle East (September 25-26) that will serve up sessions and discussions on various industry-related topics.
