A fire is reported to have broken out in Ajman's Al Nakheel area on 8 August, 2017.

The blaze started at a spot where miscellaneous waste was found.

Firefighters from the Ajman Civil Defence Department were called to put out the fire, WAM reported.

Maj Marwan Yousif Al Shamsi, who, according to local daily Gulf News, is an officer at Al Jurf Civil Defence station, said a call was received at 9:44am informing the team of a waste fire.

He continued: "Teams from three civil defence stations responded immediately.

"Strong winds carried the flames to two nearby buildings, but the teams successfully contained and put out the fire."

No injuries were reported, Al Shamsi added.
