District cooling company Empower announced that it has recently connected its services to The Opus, a commercial tower in Business Bay.

The company will offer district cooling solutions to the commercial complex for a total capacity of 3,520 RT, which will result in energy savings of approximately 50% for the development.

Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said: “At Empower, we’re steadily expanding to new projects and developments in the UAE. Our partnership with The Opus is a value-addition to our prestigious list of clients and we will ensure to provide them with best energy efficiency solutions that will guarantee optimal savings for the project.”

The cooling system at The Opus will utilise almost half of the electricity for every tonne per hour, compared to conventional cooling systems, the company said.

Bin Shafar added: “The district cooling solutions for The Opus will follow environmentally friendly standards, to provide the best energy efficiency and water consumption levels. We laud the developer Omniyat’s decision to choose district cooling over conventional cooling methods. It will not only offer them upscale maintenance and energy efficiency, but also generate long-term savings.”
