ASHRAE has announced a call for papers for its Third International Conference on Efficient Building Design, taking place from 3-4 October, 2018 in Beirut, Lebanon.
According to ASHRAE, preference will be given to papers on design, systems, and control strategies for low-energy and nearly zero-energy buildings.
The society noted that the organisers of the event is also interested in papers identifying prospects for next-generation sustainable HVAC systems that run on renewable energy.
In a statement, ASHRAE revealed that those interested can send abstracts until 15 October, 2017. If accepted, papers are due on 15 February, 2018.
The papers will reportedly be peer-reviewed by ASHRAE and overseen by a scientific committee.
Organised by ASHRAE, the ASHRAE Lebanese Chapter, the Munib and Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at American University of Beirut, the conference will feature keynote presentations from experts and professionals in the field.
Participants will also have access to specialised and organised sessions, as well as oral and poster presentations, ASHRAE added, noting that the conference will tackle a wide range of topics, including indoor air quality systems, solar heating and cooling for built environments, and sustainable building designs.
Nesreen Ghaddar, conference chair, commented: “This conference offers the latest advanced building and bioclimatic designs to specifically adapt to moderate and hot humid climates in the gulf region.
“We are particularly interested in sharing the latest developments on energy-efficiency standards, and building codes, including new refrigerants that are adapted to warmer climates.”
