The UAE Ministry of Infrastructure Development has announced plans to develop a network of roads that will link cities in the country’s East Coast through Sharjah’s Khorfakkan West Ring Road.

The planned road project, which has an estimated value of $41m (AED150m), was launched by Dr Abdullah bin Mohammad Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minsiter of Infrastructure Development, during a tour of major infrastructure projects in the UAE’s East Zone.

According to UAE state news agency, WAM, the minister also opened the road linking Sheikh Khalifa Highway in Fujairah and Khatam Malaha, as well as E99, otherwise known as the East Coast Road.

During the tour, the minister emphasised the need to have all parties concerned to show their commitment to executing infrastructure projects according to international standards and practices, and in line with the directives and aspirations of the country’s leadership.
