Depa bags $32.7mn Palazzo Versace contract

Depa wins fit-out contract for hotel rooms and apartments at Palazzo Versace, Dubai

Depa has won a $32.7 million contract for the fit-out of hotel rooms and furnished apartments at Palazzo Versace Hotel, Dubai.

Due for completion on April 30, 2010, the luxury $395 million Palazzo Versace Resort will be located in Culture Village, a $13.6 billion leisure and tourism project being developed by Dubai Properties.

Amongst its more quirky features, the 37,224m² hotel will offer the world’s first refrigerated beach, ensuring that guests can walk comfortably across the sand on even the hottest of days.

Depa’s scope of work includes the complete fit-out of 197 of the hotel’s 213 rooms, and all 169 of its furnished apartments.

“Our work on Burj Al Arab, Emirates Palace, Atlantis, The Palm and other iconic hotels has positioned us well to win this prestigious contract. This project fits well with our strategy for 2010 and, as always, we are committed to delivering the highest quality service within the client’s budget and timeframe,” commented Mohannad Sweid, CEO of Depa.

The Palazzo Versace Hotel in Dubai is a sister property to the uber luxurious Palazzo Versace Australia, which opened in Queensland in 2000.
