Kuwait has financed the construction of six new schools in Iraq’s Nineveh, a province on the outskirts of Mosul, it has been revealed.

Of the six, four were built in the Nineveh Plains region; one in the Qayyarah camp for internally displaced individuals, south of Mosul; and one on Mosul’s left coast, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Made of prefabricated units, each school features 16 classrooms, as well as administration and medical facilities.

KUNA further noted that the schools, which are expected to open to the public in less than two months, were implemented as part of the GCC country’s “Kuwait by your side” humanitarian campaign.
