ITC builds almost 5,000 new parking bays in Abu Dhabi

The Integrated Transport Center (ITC) has announced the implementation of 4,846 parking bays in six sectors across Abu Dhabi

The Integrated Transport Center (ITC) has announced the implementation of 4,846 parking bays in Abu Dhabi.

The parking spaces have been developed in six of the emirate’s localities: Sectors W14/01, W15/01, W17/02, W18/03, W19/01, and E38-01.

The initiative forms part of ITC’s efforts to increase the level of road safety and maintain the general appearance of Abu Dhabi.

Mohammed Hamad Al Muhairi, deputy general manager of ITC and head of its traffic parking team, said that the spaces would be free for villa permit holders, and that paid parking would be enforced from today.

Al Muhairi also stated that the implementation of paid parking management in the sectors would offer long-term solutions for parking issues, maintain the traffic flow, and reduce the prevalence of illegal parking.

Inspectors will operate across all of the sectors to assure compliance, he added.

With regards to paid parking, 1,534 bays have been implemented in Sector W14/01m which is bordered by Hazza Bin Zayed the First Street in the north, Delma Street in the south, Al Karama Street in the east, and Mubarak Bin Mohammed Street in the west.

Sector W15/01, which is bordered by Delma Street in the north, Mohammed Bin Khalifa Street in the south, Al Karama Street in the east, and Mubarak Bin Mohammed Street in the west, now features 634 additional parking bays.

ITC has implemented 881 parking bays in Sector W17/023, which is bordered by Al Falah Street in the north, Hazza bin Zayed the First Street in the south, Khalifa bin Shakhbout Street in the east, and Khaleej Al Arabi Street in the west.

Sector W18/03, which is bordered by Hazza Bin Zayed the First Street in the north, Delma Street in the south, Khalifa Bin Shakhbout Street in the east, and Khaleej Al Arabi Street in the west, is now home to 614 new spaces.

An additional 515 bays have been added to Sector W19/01, which is bordered by Delma Street in the north, Mohammed Bin Khalifa Street in the south, Khalifa Bin Shakhbout Street in the east, and Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street in the west.

Finally, 668 parking spaces have been added to Sector E38-01, which is bordered by Salama Bint Butti Street in the north, Al Dhafra Street in the south, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street in the east, and 14th Street in the west.
