American Institute of Chemical Engineers elects first Arab fellow
Saudi Aramco's Ahmed Khogeer is the first Arab fellow of AIChE, as well as the first engineer from outside the US to receive the Distinguished Services Award from the institute's Fuels and Petrochemicals Division
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) has elected its first fellow from the Arab region, it has been revealed.
According to Saudi Aramco, Ahmed Khogeer, a senior project engineer with its Special Kingdom Projects Department, has been elected to the highest degree of membership possible for an engineer at AIChE.
Khogeer is also the first engineer from outside the US to receive the Distinguished Services Award from the Fuels and Petrochemicals Division of AIChE, Saudi Aramco added.
Khogeer was presented the fellowship certificate and award at the institute’s 2017 spring meeting in Texas, where he delivered a presentation on Saudi Vision 2030 and its impact on projects in the region.
Registered as a consultant engineer in Saudi, Khogeer has been a member of AIChE since 1998.
