UAE approves infrastructure projects worth $327m

The UAE has approved funding for $327m (AED1.2bn) worth of infrastructure and urban development projects to be carried out across the country.
The decision comes in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the close monitoring by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, according to WAM.
Among the projects approved include the $236m (AED866m), 300-bed Shaikh Khalifa Central Hospital in Fujairah.
The 24-hour facility will include 11 specialised departments, outpatient clinics, a 32-bed emergency ward, a three-storey rehabilitation centre, and 673 parking spots.
Several road projects were also approved including the awarding of the $88m (AED323m) Shaikh Khalifa Road upgrade.
Additionally, the initiative includes funding for a number of internal roads and parking lots in residential complexes in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah at a cost of $3.3m (AED12.4m).
