GE and Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) have opened a monitoring centre for dissolved gas analysis (DGA) in the country’s Sabhan Industrial Area.

In a statement, GE said that the new centre deploys its digital industrial solutions and is part of its partnership with MEW to modernise and digitise Kuwait’s electrical network.

The centre features a GE asset performance management solution that incorporates the retrofit of ageing transformers with monitoring sensors, in addition to software installation and support from a GE representative for customer service and data analysis.

According to GE, the DGA monitoring centre will allow MEW to not only visualise the state of its equipment in real-time but also anticipate challenges and issues through data received.

This will strengthen the reliability of MEW’s networks and the communities it serves, the company added.
