Alba appoints new deputy CEO and chief supply chain officer

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) announced the appointment of Ali Al Baqali as the deputy chief executive officer (CEO) and chief supply chain officer.

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) announced the appointment of Ali Al Baqali as the deputy chief executive officer (CEO) and chief supply chain officer.

The appointment was announced during the Alba board of directors meeting on 27 September, 2017.

Al Baqali, a Bahraini national, has nearly two decades of service in different roles with the company.

In this new role, Al Baqali will be crucial in driving Alba’s growth strategy in terms of upstream development.

Speaking on this occasion, Alba’s chief executive officer, Tim Murray said: “Ali’s journey to the chief position is a shining example of Alba’s commitment to harness the true potential of its people and promote from within.

"As the CFO, Ali played an instrumental role in the financing of Line 6 Expansion Project and his new appointment marks a milestone as we prepare Alba’s transformation to the next level with Line 6 Expansion Project.”

Al Baqali joined Alba in 1998 as a purchasing officer and was promoted in 2010 as the manager of procurement and warehousing. In October 2012, he was appointed as the acting chief finance and supply officer, and in June 2013, Al Baqali was announced as the chief financial officer for Alba.
