The Middle East office for Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) has appointed Moscow-based UniRent as its distributor for all Genie products, bar light towers, in Russia.

UniRent has in turn ordered 90 Genie machines, including articulating and telescopic boom, scissor and personnel lifts — with working heights from 9.57m to 25.87m — as well as telehandlers.

“Our aim is to make Genie products easily accessible across all markets, with best services at all times,” said Sharbel Kordahi, MD for Terex Equipment (Genie) Middle East, the regional office also responsible for southern Africa, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

“With the appointment of UniRent as the distributor of Genie equipment for Russia, customers will benefit from easier access to Genie product, and the provision of spare parts, skilled local service support and financing solutions backed by Terex Financial Services throughout the country.”

Founded in 2012, UniRent operates out of 15 branches across Russia, and sells and rents road-building, material handling and access equipment supported by comprehensive aftersales services.

“We are proud to become part of the Genie family, with whom we share the same customer-focused culture and philosophy,” said Yaroslav Klepov, CEO of Unirent.

“Genie completes our product offering perfectly. Backed by our strong market presence, local service support and stock of in-house parts, we aim to be a major player and the reference point for Genie customers in Russia and the CIS.”

Kordahi continued: “Adding to the presence of existing Genie partners, the appointment of Unirent extends our geographical coverage to 80 branches throughout Russia and five branches in the CIS.”
