Infrastructure software solutions provider, Bentley Systems, has signed an agreement to acquire Action Modulers’ water modelling software business.

In a statement, Bentley Systems revealed that it acquired the Portugal-based business in a bid to advance flood resilience through the integration of infrastructure engineering, reality modelling, and environmental predictive analytics.

According to the company, the modelling software products of Action Modulers are developed by a team of environmental modelling scientists and researchers. These products include MOHID Studio, Action Server, Action Flood, Action Forecast, Action Seaport, Action Beach, and Action Weather.

According to Bentley Systems, Action Modulers was founded in 2004 and boasts expertise in applying numerical modelling tools to operational flood early warning systems; environmental impact of pollutants distributed by water flow, tides, and winds; and flooding from overflowing drainage systems, among others.
