Value of Expo 2020 Dubai projects hits $33bn

Expo 2020-related developments in Dubai has now reached a combined value of $33bn (AED121bn), according to project research and intelligence provider, BNC Network

Expo 2020-related developments in Dubai has now reached a combined value of $33bn (AED121bn), it has been revealed.

Project research and intelligence provider, BNC Network, said in a statement that those developments include transport infrastructure projects, such as the expansion of road networks, highways, roundabouts, interchanges, and the Dubai Metro.

Other developments include residential, commercial, hospitality, and golf course properties, which are mostly located in Dubai South.

Spanning 14,500ha, Dubai South is a mixed-use development that features the Al Maktoum International Airport (AMIA) as its centrepiece. It is also home to more than 2,000 civil structures comprising buildings, warehouses, and exhibition facilities.

According to BNC Network, most of the projects under development at Dubai South are expected to complete before Expo 2020 opens on 20 October, 2020. Once completed, they will create 500,000 jobs, the research firm added.
