Zain project sites in Oman to get high-speed fibre-optic network
Oman Broadband Company (OBC) has signed an agreement to provide Zain construction sites with a high-speed fibre-optic network as part of its efforts to promote smart cities
Oman Broadband Company (OBC) has signed an agreement with Zain Real Estate Development to implement a high-speed fibre-optic network in the latter’s project sites.
The terms of the deal will see OBC providing the infrastructure for a high-speed fibre-optic network at Zain construction sites in Sur Al Hadeed, Al Hail, Al Athaiba, Ghala Heights, Al Muna, and Ruwi.
Quoting Eng Al-Manthri, chief executive officer of OBC, Oman News Agency (ONA) noted that agreement is part of the company’s efforts to boost the capabilities of industrial, commercial, and real estate areas to operate smart cities with very high specifications.
Meanwhile, Mish’al bin Mohammed al-Ra’eesi, executive director of ZEIN Real Estate Development, commented: "Our goal is to provide customers with the best service available in the current market by providing high-speed fibre-optic network, which is […] needed by customers.”
According to ONA, Zain’s Dar Al Zain development, which comprises 300 villas and is the company’s largest project, will be installed with a high-speed fibre-optic network before the end of the year.
