How has the property and construction industry evolved towards uptake of automation in projects?

In short, a lot. Building and home automation has evolved tremendously in the last few years, of course, associated with the growth of IoT in many aspects of today’s modern life. From simple standard automation application to sophisticated integrated systems.

What are some of the solutions your company offers?

Greentec Automation offers state of the art, and latest solutions for building and home automation mainly addressing occupants comfort without compromising energy efficiency. Our solutions include: Lighting and dimming control especially designed for LED lighting technology; guest room management system; background music and distributed sound systems; audio/video intercom system and integration platforms for automation systems.

Is the focus only on new builds or do you also focus on retrofits? Explain the benefits of both.

Our focus is on new builds but retrofits are equally important — in new builds we promote implementation of latest automation and energy saving technologies, thus ensuring it is future ready and sustainable. On the other hand we bring retrofits to energy efficiency levels that are in line with UAE’s sustainability initiatives and green building directives.

Tell us about investment of installment and justifiable ROI?

To achieve maximum benefit, a site survey is carried out by specialised team, the survey is concluded by feasibility study identifying areas of improvements, invested capital and foreseen return of investment, on an average the automation and energy saving system has a payback of two years to three years.

What are some of the exclusive and stand out automation technologies offered by your company?

We offer dedicated lighting control and dimming system especially designed for LED lighting which utilises the latest Zero Cross Switching Technology from our German principal company Theben AG. This is in addition to a wide range of motion sensors, presence sensors and integrated guest room management systems for the hospitality industry.

Elaborate on a few of your successful and most notable project wins?

Our products and solutions are found in major projects such as the Landmark Group headquarters located near Dubai Media City. Here our lighting system controllers have been specifically selected due to its ZCST and its capability of handling higher inrushes of current and LED lighting. The Expo 2020 head offices are also equipped with Theben AG occupancy sensors providing lighting control based on day light harvesting and staff occupancy in offices.

In the hospitality sector, integrated guest room management system and keypads from the German manufacturer Albrecht Jung supported by Theben lighting and AC controllers are quite prominently found across properties in the Gulf. These solutions have also been the choice of two Palm Jumeirah-based hotels: The recently opened 560-keys Dukes Oceana Hotel and the 255-room Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel.
