Voltas Limited won the most coveted MEP Contractor of the Year award.

With a market capitalisation of $2.7bn, Voltas Limited is part of the much larger $130bn TATA Group.

Voltas was established in 1954 in India and it offers engineering solutions for a wide spectrum of industries in areas such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning, refrigeration, electro-mechanical projects, textile machinery, mining and construction equipment, water management and treatment, cold chain solutions, building management systems and indoor air quality.

Judges noted that Voltas had an “excellent international footprint, debt free books, iconic projects, recognition from client (Aldar) and PMP employees, making is a clear winner”.

After winning the award, Suresh Kumar, general manager-projects & corporate business development, at Voltas Limited said: “It is a great honour for us. Voltas has been there in this region for the last 40 years. We have bagged 2 awards; one for Plumbing Project of the Year and the other for MEP Contractor of the Year and this is a great achievement.”

Speaking more about the MEP sector, Kumar said: “For the MEP sector, there are a lot of opportunities, it’s for the contractor to select what he wants rather than just going after everything.

"For Voltas, in particular, brighter years are ahead because as a company we are a multi-product company. And we select our projects in such a way that we are able to do justice to the market and we are able to leverage our capabilities.”
