MEP Awards 2017: Chris Barry named top MEP executive

Chris Barry, general manager of BK Gulf, was named MEP Executive of the Year.

In January 2017, BK Gulf appointed Chris Barry as the new general manager, who has over 30 years’ experience in the UAE working on major construction projects as a client, consultant and contractor.

In 2016, BK Gulf’s financial performance was stable. The company successfully completed several mega projects such the Dubai Opera House, Jumeirah Al Naseem and College of Media and Communications in Qatar.

Also, in 2016, the company saw the signing of the major Design and Build Contact for DP World new Container Terminal 4 project.

Talking about his win, Barry said: “This award means a lot [to me]. I am very appreciative. I am very happy that my peers in the industry have recognised what I have done from the time I have been in Dubai. And its not just me as an individual, it the team that I have around me that has made me the success that I am.”

“The future for me in BK Gulf is good. We have a strategy going forward.”
