Arcadis won the MEP Consultancy of the Year 2017 at the 11th edition of the awards.

Among several other successful projects, Arcadis success is best captured with its work on the Dubai Creek Harbor Retail District, where it was appointed as lead consultant.

The firm began work on the Emaar project in November 2016 that spans 2.8 million m2 of retail, residential, hotel and entertainment development.

As a result, the client was able to meet early works on-site and gained confidence in Arcadis’ ability to support future success.

“It’s been a team effort, which I have built over the last three years that has worked closely with our clients. Also, we don’t option sustainable practices anymore - so in terms of water, for example, all the condensate water site-wise gets used. So it’s not a nice-to-have design option, its standard,” said Reid Donovan, regional director, MEP solutions, Arcadis.

He added that 30% to 40% of the water used for irrigation on buildings designed by the firm is obtained from the chiller system.

An 89% growth in Arcadis’ MEP department in the Middle East since 2016 has also been registered indicating the rise and rise of the company.

As of date, the firm employs 223 qualified MEP engineers across the Gulgf region and the Philippines.

Globally Arcadis’ share prices have increased by 47% over the last 12-month period (September 2016 – September 2017), signalling a position of strength, it said.

In 2016, Arcadis’ Middle East revenues grew from 7.9% (in 2015) to 8.4% of global revenues of which the MEP projects contributed 11.5%.

The firm has also worked on projects such as: Jumeirah Open Beach, Security Forces Medical Complexes (SFMC), City Walk and the BurJuman Centre.
