Aldar Properties has announced changes to its board of directors and management team.

In a statement, the Abu Dhabi-based property development, investment and management company revealed that its former CEO, HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, has been appointed as board chairman.

Meanwhile, Aldar’s former chief development officer, Talal Al Dhiyebi, is taking over as CEO, a post that Al Mubarak has held since 2014.

The company stated: “The appointment of [Al Mubarak] to the Board is consistent with the company’s efforts to implement high standards of corporate governance.

“In making this appointment, the Board also took into account [his] expertise and experience, which will be crucial as Aldar enters the next phase of its growth.”

Aldar added: “Al Dhiyebi has served with distinction as the company’s chief development officer since February 2015 and has been instrumental in the company’s growth.

“The Board believes that this is exactly the right time for Al Dhiyebi to step up to the role of CEO, and is confident that he will continue to guide the company to further success.”

Aldar’s board of directors also appointed HE Abubaker Seddiq Al Khoori as vice chairman along with HE Waleed Ahmed Al Mokarrab al Muhairi.
