Empower to expand workforce by year end to meet skills demand

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) announced that it has expanded its workforce by almost 10% following new contract awards and renewals of existing projects.
With a further 15% increase in the number of Emirati employees recorded this year, Empower is expected to increase its workforce by the end of 2017 to accommodate the growing need for highly-trained staff as demand in its network grows, the company said in a statement.
Empower has also been expanding its network of district cooling transmission pipelines, which crossed 236 kilometres by end of 2016 due to continuous business growth.
Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO, Empower, said: “Further to our efforts to deliver highly-efficient district cooling services, Empower has embarked on new expansions in our human resources to fill in the gap in various departments, which have witnessed increased activities this year, following the growth in business.
“The staff are highly-trained in various fields and meet the qualifications based on international standards.
“The positive reception of the property sector in investing in environmental sustainability is a key factor to our growth as well as seeing the economic benefits of shifting to district cooling.
We anticipate that the market will continue to increase demand, which is why we felt the need to proactively broaden our human resource capability,” Bin Shafar added.
District cooling services contionue to gain popularity in the UAE and are being adopted globally as energy-efficient and cost-effective air-conditioning solutions, supporting global efforts towards mitigating climate change through optimized energy use.
