Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has announced the signing of an agreement to provide funding for the rehabilitation of a school in Yemen.
Rumah, a secondary school located in Yemen’s Hadramaut Governorate, has not been operational for more than ten years, resulting in students having to travel 80km to attend another school in Thamud District, according to UAE state news agency, WAM.
The agreement, which includes maintenance works and the installation of internal equipment in the school, is reportedly part of the UAE assistance programme to support education in Hadramaut.
ERC has also signed an agreement to refurbish the governorate’s Al Kuda school.
