Alba appoints new manager for power expansion project
Khaled Mersal, Alba's newly appointed manager for power expansion project, first joined the company in 2008 as a shift engineer
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has announced the promotion of Khaled Mersal to manager power expansion project.
The company said in a statement that Mersal has been with Alba since 2008, when he joined as shift engineer under the company’s graduate engineers training programme for power operations.
In 2016, Mersal was promoted twice, first to power operations superintendent, and then to acting manager power expansion project.
Commenting on Mersal’s promotion, Tim Murray, chief executive officer of Alba, said: “Alba is committed to promoting Bahraini nationals from within [the organisation] to leadership positions for the future success of the company.
“Khaled, a Bahraini national, will be key in driving the construction of PS 5 (Power Station 5), which is critical to the success of the Line 6 Expansion Project. I am confident that he will deliver excellent results, and wish him all the best in his new role.”
Mersal has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology and a Master of Science in Engineering System Management from London’s Kingston University. He also holds an MBA from the College of William and Marry Virginia, in the US.
