Banyan Tree, Sweid & Sweid to build $163m residential tower in UAE

Sweid & Sweid has announced plans to develop the first Banyan-Tree residential project in the Middle East.

Located in Dubai, the $163m (AED600m), 32-storey tower will comprise 244 residences, ranging from one to four bedrooms.

The project will also feature several duplex apartments with private outdoor gardens, and three full-floor penthouses.

Banyan Tree Residences, Hillside Dubai’s tower will occupy just 10% of the project’s 10,220m2 plot. Approximately three quarters of the accompanying land will be dedicated to resort-style amenities and facilities, including a signature clubhouse and spa.

Commenting on the project, Ho Kwon Ping, executive chairman of the Banyan Tree Holdings hospitality brand, said: “This is our first entry into the emerging branded residence space in the Middle East.

“Our offering is truly unique in that we are giving our end-users the experience of a luxury retreat that they would expect from our hotels and resorts. However, there is no end to the holiday; this will be their home.”

Maher Sweid, managing partner of Sweid & Sweid, added: “With over two years in design and development, we are excited to finally announce this landmark project and our partnership with Banyan Tree.

“In line with our corporate philosophy, underpinned by the commitment to delivery, construction commenced far ahead of the public sales launch, which will give assurance to buyers about the timely delivery of the project. Interested buyers can go online and register to be the first to be invited to the launch of the sales centre.”

Once finished, the development will feature a 31m swimming pool, a children’s pool, a children’s play area, and a poolside café. Residents will have access to a concierge service, which will be provided by Banyan Tree’s management team.

Interior finishes will include 3.2m-high ceilings, Grohe fixtures, and Villeroy & Boch sanitary ware. The residential units’ custom kitchens will feature quartz and Zebrano wood detailing along with Siemens and Smeg stainless-steel appliances.

Sales for the project will be officially launched in Q1 2018 to coincide with the completion of the onsite sales centre and show apartment.

Banyan Tree Residences, Hillside Dubai is scheduled to complete in Q3 2019, with construction having commenced at the beginning of this year.
