FSI Middle East has been at the forefront of technology and computer-aided facility management in the region. With recent app and platform launches, the firm has managed to gain a stronger foothold in the market, and its portfolio of offerings now covers a larger sphere.

FSI Middle East recently launched Concept Advantage — a suite of single-purpose user-focussed apps which connect with FSI’s well established Concept Evolution CAFM. In course of time, the firm will add more single-purpose applications to its service, FSI Middle East’s Adrian Jarvis says.

Another important new launch has been the FSI GO app that is targeted towards asset management and tasks. The firm also showcased the latest Concept Evolution CAFM at the FM Expo 2017.

For Concept Evolution this means, alongside other enhancements to PPM and PPM Planners functionality, the addition of a BIM Document Manager and 3D Model Viewer, allows users to import and manage documents related to BIM (Building Information Modelling) projects for their facilities.

The BIM Document Manager supports the upload of BIM project document types, including COBie and WexBIM. Users can view and browse 3D models generated from BIM data, and the model viewer helps to visualise the structure of properties and the relative shape and position of the component assets.

Jarvis says: “Smartphones and apps have already been established as a key interface for maintenance technicians and FM professionals, however a new generation of app technology, such as that offered by Concept Advantage, is now being put in end-user’s hands. The technology is no longer distant, and it provides a rewarding social experience as well as a means for feedback and collaboration. By connecting facilities management to the wider business and community ecosystem user-focused apps bring the potential to change the nature of facilities services and their delivery.”

Milano, Anis Sajjan, Managing Director, Danube

Milano recorded a 30% increase in its sales figures, as compared to last year in H1 2016. The group hopes to keep up the performance for 2018. The increase in business was also due to several new launches from the company.

Anis Sajan, managing director, Danube Group said: “We launched the latest technology of Milano water heaters. Milano has been the first company whose water heaters have received both EQM & GC Mark certificates offering a state-of-the-art product whose technology not only includes an enamel coated inner tank (glass lined), but also offers an enamel coated SS316L heating element (thermostat). At the Big 5 trade show, Milano also launched its DIY Tiles.

“The new Do-It-Yourself or DIY product will make the process of replacing tiles relatively easy. It is eco-friendly and affordable as well. It has thermal insulation and anti-mould proliferation. It’s also easy-to-clean, stain-resistant and sound proof. Also, Milano DIY foam blocks are made without any harmful chemicals, and from 100% recyclable material,” he said.

Milano has a strong distribution network throughout Africa, Europe, Asia, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and has around 50 showrooms in the Middle East, and is supported by more than 5,000 distributors across the world.  Sajan says: “In the coming years we are going to present the latest technology of water heaters, water purifier, mixers, showers, tiles, bath tubs, wash basins and vanity products.”

Danube Group has strategised future growth plans. “We have geared ourselves to meet the challenges ahead keeping the Expo 2020 in mind. As a group we aim to achieve 15% to 20% year-on-year growth until 2020. In the pipeline we have new store openings, at least five showrooms in 2018 and we will also launch three new property projects,” Sajan adds.

Nanosoft, Eashak Ali, Director

Nanosoft launched several new products in 2017. A few products were also immediately put to use by its existing clients. X-ceed Next (KPI and dashboards); Self Service – Attendance (GIS enabled); Smart Helpdesk – Self Service (kiosk based) and Smart FM b2c and to name a few.

Eashak Ali, director, Nanosoft says: “Our products such as the X-ceed — Mobility is designed and developed for use of FM management teams to get instant updates and approve tasks on the move. The attendance app enables tracking of the workforce spread across various sites. Our other applications also enable a host of different features which enables property owners to be more informative about their properties and service offerings. Interestingly, our eliminates the necessity of IT infrastructure spending to host smart FM product on premise.”

Nanosoft’ range of smart FM products are also offered with various stages of implementation which includes training, upgrades and licensing. Nanosoft works with major FM players, property and asset managers from across the region. These include MAB FM, ETA, ADNOC, JayPackCo, G4S and Foundation Property management to name a few.

Nanosoft was established in 1999, in India. Ali says: “Our Middle East operations began in 2007. Today, we are full-fledged software company, capable of accommodating business growth and diversification that could require changes in work flow, reporting and analysis. Professional thermal imaging camera manufacturers FLIR recently launched the T500 series which includes the T540 and T530. Kärcher’s Shakil A. Siddiqui says the main challenge in the region is dust. “The type of dust floating around us on a daily basis, both indoor and outdoor, places enormous stress on all type of machines and specifically on the filtering systems. So machines needs to be operated within the parameters they were built for and maintained to the highest standard in order to perform at peak consistently.”
