UAE-based Arkan Building Materials is expanding into Far East and Central African markets after winning several export contracts over the last year.
Through its ANABEEB specialty pipes business, Arkan has signed deals for specialist glass reinforced pipes and unplasticised polyvinyl chloride for a range of municipal infrastructure projects this year in several export markets including the Philippines, Hong Kong, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and Mauritius.
This is in-line with the company’s strategy to increase exports over the coming years to 20% of revenues to broaden its customer base and diversify its income.
Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, chairman, Arkan said: “We are making significant progress with our export strategy, winning new customers in emerging markets, where we have met stringent technical and manufacturing specifications and demonstrated our ability to deliver products consistently.
“We will be developing each of these market opportunities and deepening our new customer relationships as approved suppliers, as well as opening discussions in other potential markets as we grow our international presence.
“The success of our export strategy is very much in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 to export locally manufactured, specialised technical products to markets around the world thereby supporting the Emirate’s diversification strategy.”
ANABEEB manufactures GRP pipes for integrated sewerage and drainage system solutions at its facility in Al Mafraq and U-PVC pipes, for use in infrastructure projects, at its facility in Mussafah.
