H+S named lead consultant for factory project in Oman

UAE-based consultancy Hoehler + alSalmy (H+S) has signed a lead consultant contract for the $96m Al Bashayer Meat factory in Oman

Oman-based consultancy Hoehler + alSalmy (H+S) has signed a lead consultant contract for the $96m Al Bashayer Meat factory in Oman.

Located in Thumraid, Dhofar, the Al Bashayer meat company is the first corporation for animal sale and breeding in Oman to use the latest meat processing technologies in producing fresh slaughtered meat. The facility will also operate in accordance to Islamic law.

The consultancy will be collaborating with STI Engineering as the chosen sub-consultant for the project, which has partnered with Hoehler + alSalmy on many projects in the past.

The project is planned to consider and integrate all elements of the meat process including waste management and will contribute to the development of small and medium enterprises in the area.

The signing ceremony was attended by HE Dr Rashid Al-Masrouri, chairman of the board of directors of Oman Food Investment Holding Company, numerous Al Bashayer Co. S.A.O.C board members, as well as Hoehler + alSalmy’s representatives and other relevant project related parties.

Muhammad Sultan AlSalmy, managing partner of Hoehler + alSalmy (H+S), said: “We are both honored and excited to be given the opportunity to enter into the food industry of Oman by designing and oversee the project to be constructed at the highest possible standard with modernised technology.

“We look forward to working with Al Bashayer Co. S.A.O.C and bringing high quality meat products to the Sultanate of Oman.”

Al Bashayer Meat factory is set to contribute to raising food quality and safety in Oman, in addition to the general development of the community as a whole through the creation of job opportunities.
