The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with SRG Holdings to build a specialised dialysis centre in Dubai's Al Barsha.

SRG Holdings will donate the funds for the design and construction of the Dubai Dialysis Centre, according to state news agency WAM.

The centre will have 60 rooms, with 42 patient rooms, and 18 private rooms to serve the needs of patients suffering from kidney failure and in need of dialysis. The centre will also provide preventive services in the field of nephrology.

The agreement was signed by Humaid Al Qutami, chairman of the board and director-general of the DHA, and Mohamed AbdulSalam AlRafi and Fahad Abdulsalam AlRafi of SRG Holdings.

Al Qutami praised the corporate social responsibility initiative of the group, adding that this project will directly help improve patient access to an essential medical service.

He said: "Health is an important sector and one that directly impacts all of us. The wellbeing of the community is of fundamental importance and providing them with specialised services across all medical specialities is in line with our strategy.

"We appreciate the gesture of private sector entities that carry out such philanthropic initiatives for the betterment of the sector and to improve patient care."
