Steel structure contract awarded for Saudi's 12.5ha King Avenue Mall
Mabani Steel's contract win will see it deliver more than 13,000MT of main structural components for the King Avenue Mall project
Mabani Steel, a part of Al Rajhi Building Solutions Group (ARBSG), has been awarded the steel structure contract for King Avenue Mall.
ARBSG is a part of Al Rajhi Holding, a Saudi Arabian conglomerate.
Spanning 12.5ha, King Avenue Mall is due for completion in December 2020.
The scope of Mabani Steel's contract includes the design, supply, and installation of the mall's steel structure.
Interior and exterior elements of the mall, including 13,000 metric tons (MT) of main structural components, will also be delivered by Mabani Steel.
Designs for the steel structure are due for completion by January 2018, while fabrication is expected to finish by May 2018.
By October 2018, installation work is expected to be completed on site.
Commenting on the contract, Dr Khalid Al Rajhi, chairman of ARBSG, said: "This contract win reflects the continued confidence in the company as a world-class provider of steel construction solutions that range from detailing to on-site erection along with maintenance and after sales services."
Last month, ARBSG announced that Cladtech International, a civil engineering and construction company, had won Al Saad General Contracting Company's contract to manufacture and install curtain wall façades for Sail Tower.
Overlooking the Red Sea, Sail Tower is a 60-storey building that will comprise 242 luxury hotel rooms, 104 serviced apartments, and parking spaces for 600 cars upon completion.
Commenting on the contract award, Al Rajhi said: "We are proud to be part of this mega-project, which will play a key role in the efforts to enhance Jeddah's business and investment environment.
"This contract win also demonstrates our commitment towards fostering strategic partnerships with companies like Al Saad General Contracting Company."
