Unipods will manufacture and install 1,700 bathroom pods for the residential complex within the Abu Dhabi master development.

The contract follows Unipods' delivery of 2,000 bathroom pods for Masdar City's Neighbourhood One Residences, a mixed-use development that is due to complete in 2020.

Unipods' bathroom products have been produced according to Masdar's specifications.

The units are pre-engineered and pre-fitted, and will be delivered to the site for direct installation.

Meanwhile, upon its completion – the date for which is yet to be revealed – Unipods' Yanbu facility will produce 6,000 units per year, and will be focussed on meeting "the large demand in the Saudi market".

Commenting on the contract win, Dr Khalid Al Rajhi, chairman of ARBSG, said: "Masdar City has chosen Unipods to deliver a second batch order of 1,700 new bathroom pods, which reflects their confidence in the world-class, fully sustainable products that we have created specifically to meet the requirements of the world’s first sustainable city."
