JLL appoints CEO for Middle East and Africa

The appointment of Thierry Delvaux, who succeeds Alan Robertson, will take effect on 4 March, 2018

JLL has announced the appointment of Thierry Delvaux as chief executive officer of its Middle East and Africa (MEA) operations, effective 4 March, 2018.  

Delvaux succeeds Alan Robertson, who is retiring after 30 years with JLL.

As CEO, Delvaux will take overall leadership responsibility for JLL’s strategic direction, brand positioning, and business growth across the Middle East and continental Africa.

Delvaux, who has been with JLL for 20 years, joined JLL in 1998. He is currently based in Washington DC, where he is global head of the international desk and chairman of the global tenant representation board.

He was previously based in Budapest, where he served as country manager for Hungary, a role that made him responsible for the company’s broader business in South East Europe, according to JLL.

The company revealed that Robertson will continue to work with JLL until the end of June 2018, serving as an adviser to the business.

Commenting on Delvaux’s appointment, Neil Murray, EMEA board sponsor for the MEA region, and CEO of JLL’s EMEA corporate solutions business, said: “Thierry has the benefit of already knowing our business and many of our clients. “He has consistently demonstrated over his 20-year career with JLL that he can build and motivate top teams to help our clients achieve their ambitions, as well as ensuring stability and sustained business growth in line with our strategic objectives.”

Meanwhile, Thierry Delvaux, added: “The diversity of opportunity in the Middle East and Africa was a key factor that drew me to this role. I’m excited to be picking up the reins of such a successful business in a region that continues to evolve and present ever-more interesting and complex choices and opportunities for our clients.”
