Construction of a $175.6m major road in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region is now more than 60% complete, according to reports.

The Madinat Zayed-Al Mirfa Road will provide a shortcut, connecting Madinat Zayed, Al Mirfa and Habshan and will be a key part of the strategic road network connecting cities within Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, has inspected progress on the 52.2km road, which is currently 63% complete, state news agency WAM reported.

The road project is being developed by the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi and managed by Abu Dhabi General Services (Musanada).

 

Sheikh Hamdan said the project is part of efforts to develop local infrastructure projects, which will help to strengthen the economy and society of the Al Dhafra region.
