Omniyat has partnered with UK-based luxury hospitality brand Dorchester Collection for the development of a hotel and residence in Dubai’s Marasi District.

The project will be developed on the banks of the Dubai Canal and will include a 5-star hotel and luxury residences, managed by Dorchester Collection, the property developer announced in a statement.

The project launch marks the brands expansion into the Asian market for the first time.

Mahdi Amjad, CEO and executive chairman of Omniyat, said: “We aim for authenticity through our projects that add to Dubai’s skyline and we only partner with the world’s most established brands that share our passion and excitement for creating unique, ultra-luxury developments.

“We want to fuel unforgettable experiences through our projects and we couldn’t have found a more suitable partner than Dorchester Collection.”

Omniyat and Dorchester Collection have also revealed plans to partner on future projects in the region. More details about the upcoming hotel will be announced in March 2018.

Aside from The Dorchester hotel in London, Dorchester Collection also owns and operates 45 Park Lane in London, Coworth Park in Ascot, Le Meurice and Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris, Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan, Hotel Eden in Rome and The Beverly Hills Hotel and Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

Christopher Cowdray, CEO of Dorchester Collection, said: “We are delighted to partner with Omniyat with its global reputation for outstanding design. This is our first hotel and residence complex in the Middle East and we look forward to bringing our distinct style of hospitality to this region.”

Last year the developer announced that Spanish hotel brand ME by Meliá will make its Middle East debut by the end of 2018, a new hotel located within the mixed-use The Opus building in Dubai’s Business Bay.

Omniyat currently has a development portfolio of more than $6.2bn.
