Google parent company launches Nest Thermostat in UAE
Alphabet has launched the Nest Learning Thermostat in the UAE with the same product features that it offers in the US and Canada
A smart thermostat has been launched in the UAE by Alphabet, the parent company of technology giant, Google.
The Nest Learning Thermostat, owned by Alphabet, is now available for purchase in the Emirates.
Nest Labs is the architect of the energy-saving thermostat.
The device is said to learn the temperature preferences of each user, and programme itself accordingly. Additionally, Nest's thermostat learns how long it takes to cool a home, thus ensuring the space is comfortable at all times.
Since the thermostat is linked to a structure’s cooling system, professional installation is recommended by the Nest Labs team.
The thermostat will offer the same features in the UAE as it does in the US and Canada, including remote control, auto-schedule, home/away assist, early-on, farsight, and energy history.
Moreover, Nest Thermostat can speak with other products connected in the home, including Philips Hue, IFTTT, and Belkin WEMO.
Commenting on the product's local launch, Payton Dobbs, general manager of Nest Labs' Europe, Middle East, and Africa operation, said: "Since we launched in 2011, the Nest Learning Thermostat has been installed in millions of homes around the world and helped to save more than 18 billion kilo-watts per hour (kWh).
"That’s more than enough electricity to power all the homes in UAE for an entire year," Dobbs added, according to an Arabian Business report.
