ESMA launches six smart energy efficiency projects

As part of the UAE Innovation Month, the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) has announced the launch of six smart initiatives

As part of UAE Innovation Month, the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) has announced the launch of six smart initiatives.

The projects include a smart emergency communication system for vehicles, a biofuel project, the third generation of water rationalistion material, an appliance for gauging water efficiency, and the second-generation of consumables control digital cards.

Abdullah Al Maeeni, ESMA director general, said the six projects come in line with the directives of the UAE wise leadership to disseminate a culture of innovation in the country and launch valuable projects that add to social welfare and economic wellbeing and boost safety levels for UAE citizens and residents alike.

Late last year, Al-Maeeni said the use of energy-efficient devices and tools in the UAE's private-sector buildings and facilities is growing. 

ESMA is organsing a two-day exhibition at City Centre Mirdif in Dubai on 22-23 February, 2018,  tilted "Innovations in UAE", WAM reported.

At the exhibition, ESMA will be displaying a number of energy efficiency techniques along with presentations to educate people on the importance of rationalising energy consumption.
