The Art of Living Mall, the region’s first and largest specialised facility, is now 70% complete.

Located in Dubai, the 4.7ha project will be the only dedicated homeware and furniture hub when it officially opens in September 2018.

Developed by MMS Global, the mall is moving on schedule with most of the concrete and construction works completed, officials close to the project told Construction Week.

“We are now in the process of finalising the steel structure for the skylights, which are nine in total,” Nour Alhoda Alsoori, project manager, MMS Global said.

MEP works are now 90% complete on ground level, and have just commenced on the upper floor. The façade will be completed in the next two months.

“It [is] a very fast-track project,” Alsoori added. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of June 2018.

Art of Living Mall is being developed under a lump sum contract with Airolink as the main contractor and Lacasa as the project's main consultant.

Speaking of the project's design, Patick Bean, design director – interiors at Lacasa, said: “I think [the design] is much more contemporary.”

Bean explained that the design will give the mall a “vibrant’ feel, and will feature “large format porcelain flooring which we have shipped in from Spain”.

The facility, which broke ground in January 2017, will host around 100 stores and will include more than 500 parking spaces.

The Art of Living Mall will also feature art exhibitions, restaurants, cafes, a cigar lounge, Wi-Fi, free valet parking, kids’ clubs, a spa, and a gym.
