Sharjah Directorate of Housing joins data-sharing project
The Sharjah Directorate of Housing will supply housing statistics to the emirate's recently-launched data-sharing platform Tabadol
The Sharjah Directorate of Housing has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development to supply real estate stats to the emirate’s data-sharing platform Tabadol.
Tabadol was launched by the Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD) in 2017 to create a database local government could use to make data-driven decisions that led to improvement of public services.
The Sharjah Directorate of Housing (DH) will supply statistical real estate data to Tabadol under terms of the MoU it signed with the DSCD.
DH chairman, Engineer Khalifa Misbah al Tunaiji, said the department had a “strategic vision” to create an integrated database to identify the needs of state housing in Sharjah, and to develop subsequent plans to address these needs.
“Communities are undergoing fast-paced development and integrated data plays a crucial role in furthering this,” said al Tunaiji.
“Our key objective is to build a healthy and stable family-oriented community and Tabadol is fundamental to achieving this goal and enhancing the quality of our services.”
The “significance” of the government’s data-sharing project encouraged DH to be “among the first” to join the emirate's statistical-gathering programme, al Tunaiji added.
Tabadol launched as a preparatory phase in May 2017 and the following six government departments and agencies signed up: the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority; Sharjah Economic Development Department; Directorate of Town Planning and Survey; Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department; Sharjah Urban Planning Council; and the Sharjah City Municipality.
