Arabtec wins $115m contract for 916 villas in Akoya Oxygen

Arabtec Construction has been awarded a $115m (AED424m) contract from Damac Properties to build 916 villas in the Akoya Oxygen master development

Arabtec Construction has been awarded a $115m (AED424m) contract from Damac Properties to build 916 villas in the Akoya Oxygen master development.

The scope of the project involves the construction of units in three themed districts, including 329 units in Mimosa, 419 units in Basswood, and 168 units in the Amazonia extension, located within Phase 6 of the development.

The three phases comprise a built-up area of approximately 148,000m2 and will take 22 months to complete, commencing in March 2018.

EFECO will be carrying out the MEP works for the project.

Hamish Tyrwhitt, group chief executive officer, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded another project from Damac Properties.

“The onboarding of repeat business from our clients is testament to our strengthened relationships across our core geographies and in our core competencies.”

Akoya Oxygen is a five million square metre master development in Dubai comprising shopping, retail, entertainment, and hospitality components as well as a an 18-hole championship golf course.
