CW Oman Awards 2018: History of Science Centre wins Commercial Project award
The jury was impressed by the project team, Hoehler + alSalmy, for completing the development within its budget, and without any loss-time injuries
Hoehler + alSalmy won Construction Week Oman Awards 2018’s top honours for Commercial Project of the Year, for its work on the History of Science Centre in the sultanate.
The winning project received praise from the awards’ judges for its architectural complexity.
The jury was also impressed by the project team for completing the development within its budget, and without any loss-time injuries (LTIs).
LOM architecture and design + Ibrahim Jaidah Architects and Engineers picked up Highly Commended Commercial Project of the Year honours for their work on the National Bank of Oman Head Office.
Judges commended this year’s highly commended commercial project for combining traditional Omani architecture with future-focussed sustainability elements.
Other finalists in the category included Atkins for its work on the Al Saadah Stadium in Salalah; Larsen & Toubro (Oman) for its ORPIC Petcoke and Storage Handling Facility; and Services & Trade Co, for its work on The Waterfront.
The gala awards ceremony was held at the Grand Hyatt Muscat hotel on Monday, 12 March, 2018.
