CW Oman Awards 2018: Atkins' Al Hinai is first Rising Star

May Al Hinai was named Construction Week Oman Awards 2018’s first-ever Rising Star of the Year 2018.
The Rising Star of the Year Award was launched for an individual, under the age of 30, who could demonstrate the greatest level of professional development during the eligibility period.
The individual may be working in any part of Oman’s construction chain, as a supplier, a contractor, a sub-contractor, or a consultant.
Al Hinai was praised by the judges for her commercial and technical understanding of the industry.
In 2016, she became the third Omani to gain the chartership of Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and is now mentoring the next generation of Omanis to achieve success.
Shenthil Kumaran T S from Lalbuksh Voltas Engineering was named Construction Week Oman Awards 2018’s Highly Commended Rising Star of the Year.
Kumaran was appreciated for his specialist contribution to projects such as the sultan Qaboos Mosque in Sohar, and his work for clients such as the Royal Guard Oman.
Other finalists in the category included Ibtithal Saed Issa Al Balushi from T2o Engineers; Sanjeew Thangavelu from AECOM; Shyam Chetana from Al Tasnim; and Sulaiman Al Asri from AECOM.
The gala awards ceremony was held at the Grand Hyatt Muscat hotel on Monday, 12 March, 2018.
