Two routes launched for new Muscat International Airport
The opening of the routes will coincide with the commencement of the new airport’s commercial operations on 20 March
Oman’s National Transport Company (Mwasalat) will open two routes Tuesday next week to serve passenger traffic to and from the new Muscat International Airport.
The opening of the routes will coincide with the commencement of the new airport’s commercial operations on 20 March.
According to Mwasalat, the Maabela- and Ruwi-New Muscat International Airport routes will operate round the clock, with a bus available every 30 minutes.
Mwasalat, which has signed an agreement to operate the taxi service at the airport with Oman Airport Management Company, has already purchased a number of buses for the new routes, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Last month, the country’s Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) revealed that the last flight will take off from the current airport at around 3.00 p.m. on 20 March, while the first flight will arrive at the new airport before 6.00 p.m. on the same day.
The cargo terminal of the new airport, meanwhile, is scheduled to become operational starting 2.00 p.m. on 19 March.
