Oman's Galfar wins BP Exploration's $95m gas system contract
Galfar Engineering and Contracting's chief executive officer said "reasonable income" is expected from the 33-month contract
Oman's Galfar Engineering and Contracting has been awarded a $95m (OMR36.7m) contract by BP Exploration (Epsilon).
The deal will see Galfar construct and install Phase 2 of a gas gathering system for the oil and gas company.
Galfar's chief executive officer, Dr Hans Erlings, said the contract spans for a 33-month period, starting from 15 March, 2018.
Mobilisation works are also included in the contract.
Commenting on the contract in a missive issued to the Muscat bourse, Erlings said: "We expect reasonable income from this contract."
In December 2017, Galfar was awarded a $15m (OMR5.8m) contract by Petrofac.
The contract related to the Salalah Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Extraction project, being developed by Salalah LPG SFZCO (SLPG).
SLPG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oman Oil Facilities Development Company (OOFDC).
Petrofac E&C Oman awarded Galfar the sub-contract for a package comprising engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) building works.
