Parsons has announced the appointment of George Arvanitis as director of master planning and urban design for the built environment division in its Middle East and Africa business unit.

In his new role, Arvanitis will be responsible for driving the company’s Urban Design Studio master planning and design projects, Parsons said in a statement.

Gary Adams, Parson group president, said: “Our MEA Built Environment Division has assembled a best-in-class team within the Urban Design Studio, and George is an excellent addition to our talented professionals.

“His unique approach, experience, and energy are key contributions to the added value Parsons brings to the projects we help develop.”

An architect and urban designer with more than 20 year of experience in Europe, the Middle East, and North America, Arvanitis has a Master of Architecture and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University Graduate School of Design in Cambridge, MA, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Florida’s College of Architecture.
