Aldar inks deals for two plots in $2.7bn Alghadeer masterplan
The signed contracts will see a school, a community clinic, and retail outlets, including a Lulu Supermarket, open at Alghadeer in 2021
Aldar Properties has sold two plots of land in its recently launched $2.7bn (AED10bn) Alghadeer master-planned development.
The developer said that the signed contracts will see Alghadeer International School, a community clinic, and retail outlets, including a Lulu Supermarket, open at Alghadeer in 2021.
The year 2021 is also the target completion date of the development’s first neighbourhood, which will comprise 611 homes.
Commenting on the plot sales, Talal Al Dhiyebi, Aldar’s chief executive officer, said: “The addition of Alghadeer International School, retail outlets, Lulu supermarket, and clinic will increase the range of convenience-driven amenities and facilities for existing and future residents at Alghadeer, creating more complete neighbourhoods.
“Developing this community shows the momentum in the Alghadeer development and is in line with our strategy to deliver desirable destinations and provide residents with a truly enriched community living experience focussed on comfort, accessibility, and convenience.”
Consisting of 14,408 homes and boasting a total residential GFA of more than 1.3 million square metres, Alghadeer is located in Abu Dhabi, close to the Expo 2020 site in Dubai.
According to Aldar, the retail amenities will have a GFA of more than 30,000m2, with 5,000 allocated for a Lulu Supermarket, and will include the community clinic.
Meanwhile, Alghadeer International School will have a GFA of 18,485m2 and will be able to accommodate up to 1,500 students from FS1 to Grade 12. It will also feature a nursery offering early childhood education.
The school is expected to commence operations in September 2020.
