Tasmeem Building Contracting (TBCI) has won a $27.7m (AED102m) deal to build 242 units for Azizi Developments in the mixed-use Meydan Avenue community.

TBCI is contracted to build three low-rise apartment blocks, named Azizi Gardens, Azizi Park Avenue, and Azizi Greenfield.

The trio of buildings is Azizi Developments' third development in the Meydan neighbourhood, following the flagship Azizi Riviera project, and Azizi Victoria in Meydan One.

The 242 apartments are spread across a mix of one- and two-bedroom units.

All three complexes will be built with landscaped parks, communal gardens, and waterfront features.

Commenting on the contract award, Mirwais Azizi, chairman of Azizi Developments, said: "We are delighted to announce the appointment of a contractor for our latest Meydan Avenue projects.

"Azizi Gardens, Azizi Greenfield, and Azizi Park Avenue are a true reflection of our commitment to providing the best community living experience and to creating urban neighbourhoods.

"These projects also have distinctive features that use natural elements as we continue to support Dubai in its commitment to sustainable developments projects."

Azizi Developments is working on more than 200 projects in the emirate. In March, the company made its biggest tender announcement to date, when the developer said it would award $5bn (AED20bn) worth of contracts in Dubai this year.

The developer has now outgrown its current head office and has hired Green Modelling Contracting to build a new headquarters in Meydan Avenue.

Meanwhile, land excavation work for Phase 3 of the waterfront development, Azizi Riviera, was also started in April 2018.
