Contract awards worth $148.7bn (AED546.1bn) are due to be awarded in the Gulf this year.
The contracts will cover regional building, infrastructure, and energy construction projects.
Rising oil prices and government spending will fuel demand for contract awards across the GCC, according to Ventures Onsite.
These contract awards will also generate numerous jobs for construction professionals in the Middle East.

Forensic planner / delay analyst
Arabian Construction Company (ACC) is hiring a forensic planner and delay analyst in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The candidate will be responsible for reviewing the impact of extensions on complex change requests and claims.
Where necessary, they will also prepare forensic planning and delay/disruption analyses to determine the cause and effect of specifics.
El Seif is hiring a project director in Riyadh, who will direct a specified project by developing adequate work systems and procedures to ensure efficient project implementation.
They will also bear the responsibility for the delivery, profitability, and quality of the project's outcome by overseeing and managing all policies and procedures related to the project's operations.
Additionally, the project director will assist in the preparation of the project budget; the approval of subcontractors, tenders, purchase orders, and materials submittal; and control payments to subcontractors.
MEP planning engineer
Khansaheb is hiring a planning engineer, with 10 to 16 years of experience, to join its team in Dubai.
The planning engineer will report either to the estimating manager or to the site project manager.
They must have strong skills to visualise the work sequence, and project should evolve, in order to prepare a practical and buildable working programme.
Alghanim International is hiring an engineering manager, whose responsibility will be to enhance processes and procedures in engineering functions.
They will also create new processes and procedures for large-value engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects.
A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required, as is between 15 and 20 years of work experience.
Commercial manager – oil and gas
Arabian Construction Company (ACC) is looking for a commercial manager in Abu Dhabi.
The candidate will work on a multi-million dollar oil and gas project.
At least 15 years of experience working in a main contracting organisation is required, and strong experience of oil and gas projects is essential.
They will also be responsible for the overall supervision of a project's commercial team – including quantity surveyors and cost controllers – while also improving and developing quantity surveying practices and systems.
El Seif is hiring a contracts manager in Riyadh.
The candidate will be responsible for administrating the contract management process from contract development to contract closing; ensuring that all projects are being carried out in adherence to contractual requirements in respect of time and budget, quantity, and quality; and resolving contractual matters and claims.
A degree in quantity surveying is required for the job, in addition to 15 years of experience in contract administration for large-scale projects.
The contracts manager must also be proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic.
Arabian Construction Company (ACC) is looking for a project manager with finishing experience to join its team in Kolkatta, India.
ACC's project manager will manage the construction of the project in accordance with the contract, in the most efficient and profitable manner.
The coordination with the plant staff for plant erection and installation, in addition to providing their safety certification, maintenance, and services at the start and during the construction period, will also be their responsibility.
At least 18 years' experience, in addition to experience of project managing 30-floor or taller buildings, is required.
Atkins is hiring a marine engineer to join its team in Abu Dhabi.
The marine engineer's responsibility will be to review and approve contractor submittals, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with contract requirements related to marine structures, such as breakwaters, revetments, quay walls, groynes, beaches, and so on.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in marine engineering or an equivalent discipline, in addition to at least 10 years' work experience, of which five must be on marine construction projects.
Experience in jetty works projects and dredging activities will be an advantage.
Al Ghurair Construction Aluminium is hiring a design manager.
The candidate will work in Al Ghurair's office in Manila, Philippines.
Between 15 and 20 years of work experience in the aluminium façade industry is required, as are engineering software skills.
The design manager must come from a subcontracting background, and they will be responsible for managing an office of 60 to 65 designers.
Principal mechanical engineer
Parsons is hiring a principal mechanical engineer to join its team in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.
The candidate will be responsible for the provision of professional engineering discipline support to the programme's projects.
The engineer will particularly emphasise on promoting and maintaining the technical adequacy, uniformity, and quality of the project's designs, in the primary areas of desalination plant mechanical systems.
Secondary emphasis on is required on heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC), as well as plumbing and fire protection processes.
