Dubai Safari will close for over four months beginning 15 May as it undergoes an upgrade, the park’s management announced on Saturday.
The Dubai Safari “embellishment” programme will see the Safari add more engagement programmes and interactive experiences for visitors, as well as more climatised areas for animals, according to Arabian Business.
“In line with our commitment to offering a superior customer experience, the upgrades seek to provide a better habitat for our animals, and a more interactive and educational experience for our visitors,” the Dubai Safari management team said in a statement.
“We are confident that our landmark destination will help attract even higher numbers of tourists to Dubai once it reopens after the summer.”
The pilot phase of the 119ha Dubai Safari was launched in December 2017. The park will reopen on 1 October.
Madrid based Animal parks operator Parques Reunidos was appointed to see the day-to-day running of the park earlier this year.
